Event Details What will the world look like after COVID-19? BritCham China is excited to kickstart this event series with "Trend Accelerator", an session that explores the trends and developments that are most likely to bloom in the aftermath of the pandemic. We hope to explore what sectors need to adapt to this rapid change in order to survive, and what sectors are most likely to benefit from it.

Lei Cheng Anchor at CGTN
Lei Cheng Anchor at CGTN Cheng Lei anchors the Global Business show on CGTN. As well as presenting the show, she drives content innovation, contributes to guest-booking and special projects. Before returning to CGTN in 2012, Lei was the China correspondent at CNBC Asia for nine years. In that role, she reported on all things China business related -- and contributed to the Chinese programming of CNBC’s partners SMG and CBN. It was at CNBC that she won a bronze award for “China, the next lap” series at the New York festivals in 2008. Her eighteen-year journalism career began at CGTN’s predecessor, CCTVNews, in 2002 where she hosted shows like “Financial Review” and “BizChina.” Before joining CCTVNews, she was a business analyst for a Sino-Australian joint venture in Shandong Province, the role brought her to China from Australia in 2001. Lei was an accountant and financial analyst for Cadbury Schweppes and ExxonMobil in Australia from 1995-2000. She graduated from the University of Queensland with a commerce degree, she is a certified practicing accountant and an accredited translator from Chinese to English.

James McGregor Chairman, Greater China at APCO Worldwide James McGregor is chairman of APCO Worldwide’s greater China region and author of two highly regarded books: No Ancient Wisdom, No Followers: The Challenges of Chinese Authoritarian Capitalism, and One Billion Customers: Lessons from the Front Lines of Doing Business in China. He also wrote the noted APCO monograph China’s Drive for Indigenous Innovation—A Web of Industrial Policies. Prior to joining APCO, Mr. McGregor was the founder and CEO of a China-focused consulting and research firm for hedge funds, a reporter for The Wall Street Journal and a chief executive of Dow Jones & Company in China. Mr. McGregor is also a former chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in China, and has long served as a leader of AmCham’s U.S., government relations. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, the International Council of Asia Society and a board member of the U.S.-China Education Trust. Mr. McGregor is a professional speaker, regular television and radio commentator and a contributor of essays and opinion articles for a variety of publications. He has lived in China for nearly three decades and is fluent in Chinese. He splits his time between Shanghai and Beijing.
Jonathan Woetzel Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company Jonathan Woetzel is a senior partner of McKinsey & Company. He is the global leader of its Cities Special Initiative and the Asia-based director of the McKinsey Global Institute. He has also led McKinsey’s Energy and Materials practice in Asia and is co-Chair of the Urban China Initiative. As McKinsey’s leader in developing its China practice, Dr. Woetzel opened the Shanghai location in 1995 and has been resident since then. He has also worked in the Hong Kong, Los Angeles, New York, and Zurich offices. Dr. Woetzel has extensive experience in developing strategies and organizations for both companies and government institutions. Industries of particular interest include energy, mining, infrastructure, and airlines.
