Looking for a fun and wholesome summer activity for your child? Want your child to have a taste of world-class all-round education in half a day? We have the perfect plan for you:
All-Round Education Day!
Children will carousel between four different activities, including drama, music, football, and poetry on a sunny summer afternoon, whilst parents will attend engaging presentations and optional observations of student activities.
Drama workshop led by LAMDA:
The ultimate aim of this workshop is to provide participants with the opportunity to have a taster session of some of the LAMDA syllabus: Acting, Speaking in Public, Speaking Verse and Prose. There will also be student demonstrations of these popular courses.
All LAMDA courses develop the life skills learners need to be a success: attributes such as self-confidence and the ability to communicate clearly and present ideas and this practical workshop will give an insight on how to achieve this.
Football lesson led by ClubFootball:
As part of ClubFootball's football coaching session, Coach Rob (from Sheffield, UK) will be delivering a fun and educational football class that uses the English Football Association's '4 Corner Model'. This model means ClubFootball classes engage players not only 'Technically' and 'Tactically', but also 'Socially' and 'Psychologically'. The club's 'ball-per-child' policy ensures all players are involved and achieve success on the pitch, and the class will focus on changing speed and direction whilst dribbling.
Music workshop led by RSL:
Experiment ukulele with Rockschool©! Get to know this popular little instrument, learn how to strum and pick. Follow the teacher to play your first chord and first ukulele song!
Learn contemporary music with Rockschool©, and further encourage your interest and curiosity to explore music and your own potential.
Pop-up poetry workshop led by SISB:
The magic of the poetry is not only found in the words themselves, but also in the vivid illustrations created by the students. The objectives of this lesson will be to familiarise oneself with a range of short poems, learn how to write them, and create a pop-up book with a theme related to the poem.
