About us
The British Chamber of Commerce in China has been at the heart of the British business community in China since the early days of reform and opening-up. As British businesses began to build their presence in the early 1980s, they came together to create a network on the ground in China to support the community, share knowledge, and advocate for greater market access. On 1 April 1981 the British Chamber was established as the Association of British Commerce in China with a mission to be the independent voice of British business in China, funded solely by our members.

"Wellbeing can only be holistic; we can only be truly well when we consider the whole individual." That was the big takeaway from this year's Corporate Wellbeing Day, held once again with United Family Healthcare. While mind and body wellness was a key part of the day's activities, participants got the chance to dive deeper into other aspects of wellness at work – whether that be intellectual, social, occupational or emotional wellness – allowing them to consider how best to support every aspect of their and their colleagues' wellbeing. Interactivity was at the heart of the event, with attendees invited to take part in practicing stretches and exercises that could be done at the desk, as well as opportunities to assess their own mental resilience at work. Small-group breakout rooms allowed for targeted focuses on particular areas of wellness, letting every participant craft their own event experience to meet the needs of their own workplace. A huge thank you to hosts Beijing United Family Hospital, to Cigna & CMB Life Insurance Company Limited for generously sponsoring the event, to our panelists for their time and expertise, and to AustCham China for their support of the event.
