    China/Asia Analyst at The Economist Intelligence Unit

    Chim is an analyst at the EIU’s China and Asia teams, and is based in the company’s Beijing and Hong Kong offices. Chim covers China’s political, diplomatic and macroeconomic dynamics, with special expertise on the country’s advanced technologies. He leads EIU’s research on China’s energy transition and emission reduction pathways. Chim is also responsible for the coverage of Southeast Asia, particularly Myanmar.

    Prior to joining the EIU in 2022, Chim led the energy, technology, and innovation teams at the advisory company China Policy, where he advised corporate and institutional clients on their China strategy. He also had experience at governmental organisations, including the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations in Cambodia.
