Julian MacCormac is Country Director for Rolls-Royce, China. Julian first came to China in 1993 and has spent much of the past twenty-five years living in or working on China. Julian joined Rolls-Royce in 2016, serving as Director for Business Development for Rolls-Royce’s civil nuclear business in China. Prior to joining Rolls-Royce Julian spent ten years in the UK Civil-Service. He worked on research, science and innovation policy, with a particular focus the commercialisation of publicly-funded research. Julian spent four years as Commercial Counsellor at the British Embassy in Beijing and led UK-China trade and investment work on infrastructure and energy. Julian currently serves as Chair of the British Chamber of Commerce in China. He has a degree in Chinese and Management. He is a recipient of the prestigious Frank Knox Fellowship and received his Master’s degree in East Asian Studies from Harvard University. In 1997 he received the Lotus Prize, awarded to exemplary Foreign Experts working in China.
Jayne Needham is currently the Principal of The British School of Beijing, Shunyi, having joined Nord Anglia Education in China in 2021. Described as a lifelong learner and educator, Needham began her teaching career immediately after completing her mathematics degree. She brings more than three decades of experience in the education sector to her role. She also holds a Master’s degree in Education from Exeter University and the UK National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH). Her experience extends to educational leadership roles in International Schools in four different countries.
Daisy Shen has 22 years’ experience with KPMG, including a long term secondment to KPMG’s Global Chairman’s Office and the KPMG Energy Centre of Excellence based in London, where she gained invaluable international experience in executive management and cross border M&A transactions. Daisy is specialized in Strategy, M&A, Energy Transition, ESG and decarbonisation Advisory, providing advice to corporates and governments in climate change, energy transition, low carbon investment, ESG and decarbonisation strategy.Daisy is a member of the Executive Committee of the British Chamber of Commerce in China, dedicated to promoting trade, investment and economic development between China and the UK. She is also a frequent speaker at women leadership forums and mentorship programs.
Robert Xiao is the Director of the Economist Intelligence Corporate Network (EICN) in Beijing. He is responsible for engaging in high-level dialogues with business and political leaders, providing insights on global macroeconomic trends and policy directions for Fortune 500 decision-makers to support their macro layout and business development in domestic and international markets. Prior to joining EICN, Mr Xiao held positions as a lecturer, senior lecturer, PhD supervisor, and Deputy Director of the Impact Finance Hub at Monash University and Deakin Business School in Australia.
Alexandra moved to Beijing in 2017, after completing a dual bachelors degree in Law and Commerce at the University of Queensland, Australia. Prior to joining the Chamber in 2022 as Senior Policy Analyst, Alexandra worked in an international law firm as a junior associate specialising in international shipping and trade.
