Laura Bicker is the BBC’s China Correspondent. Prior to this she was Seoul correspondent, Washington correspondent and before that she was based in Glasgow, Scotland. Laura has worked in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Newcastle during her career at the BBC. News stories Laura has covered in recent years include Hurricane Irma, the mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest music festival, the Harvey Weinstein scandal and, in her time in Seoul, everything from the Trump-Kim summit to women’s rights.

Joe Leahy is the FT’s Beijing bureau chief. Previously, Brazil bureau chief, Mumbai bureau chief, Asia companies editor and Hong Kong correspondent. He has also worked in Indonesia. He won “Journalist of the Year” in the Society of Publishers in Asia awards in 2009 and was joint winner of Sopa's Excellence in Journalistic Innovation award in 2024 for investigative reporting.

Liwei Wang is Senior Writer with Caixin Media. He is also Deputy Chief Editor for Caixin Summits, responsible for curating and organizing Caixin’s conferences.

He was Caixin Visiting Fellow at Oxford University’s Blavatnik School of Government in 2019. In addition to feature writing and profile-type interviews, such as with former Fed Chair Paul Volcker, UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves, Minister of MIIT Miao Wei, he also hosts Who's Time, Caixin's flagship profile-type interview programme, guests include AIIB President Jin Liqun, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink. He moderates panels and dialogues, such as at Davos, CIFTS.

Before joining Caixin, he was Research Associate and Project Manager at Columbia Business School. He holds a Master’s degree from Columbia University in the city of New York and a Bachelor’s degree from Nottingham University.
